Everyday tools

Quick tools for the small jobs that come up at home, at work and in the classroom: a spinner wheel for decisions, random name and team pickers, a coin flip and random numbers, plus checks for your microphone, webcam, keyboard, speakers and screen.

Random choices use your browser’s cryptographic random generator, so they are fair. Device tests run on your own computer or phone: your camera and microphone are never recorded or sent anywhere.

Which tool do I need?

Making a decision

Spin the wheel with your own options, or use the yes or no wheel for a quick answer. Flip a coin for a straight 50/50.

Picking people fairly

The wheel of names and random name picker choose without repeats, and the random team generator splits a list into even teams in one go.

Checking a device

Before a video call or after buying something new, test your microphone, webcam, speakers and keyboard, or look for dead pixels on a screen.

Words and games

The anagram solver finds every word in a set of letters, handy for Countdown, Scrabble and word puzzles. The CPS and reaction time tests are quick challenges to try against friends.

Questions people ask

Are the random results really random?

Yes. They use your browser’s cryptographic random number generator, the same kind used for security, so no option is favoured.

Do the mic and webcam tests record me?

No. Sound and video stay on your device. Nothing is recorded unless you choose to play back a test clip, and that clip is never uploaded.

Do I need to sign up?

No. Every tool is free and works straight away, with no account.
